Networking & Community Safety: Business After Hours at Hoot & Ole’s
There is no stopping the Austin business community! Despite some extremely windy conditions, we saw an incredible turnout for our recent Business After Hours co-hosted by Hoot & Ole’s Tavern and Thompson Sanitation.

A Growing Network
The evening was a perfect example of how our monthly gatherings continue to flourish. We were especially pleased to welcome several first-time attendees. Seeing new faces join our network is a testament to the vibrant growth of our local economy and helps foster the collaborative spirit that makes Austin unique.
While catching up with colleagues, guests enjoyed a local favorite: delicious homemade jambalaya prepared by the talented team at Hoot & Ole’s.
Safety Spotlight: Thompson Sanitation
Beyond the networking, the evening included an important educational moment. Will Harmon of Thompson Sanitation shared a critical safety reminder regarding Lithium batteries.
To prevent dangerous fires at landfills and processing plants, it is vital to remember:
Never toss Lithium batteries in the regular trash.
Free Disposal: You can drop them off for free at the Mower County Recycling Center. Taking this small step helps protect our local sanitation workers and the infrastructure that keeps our community running.
Progressive Jackpot Update: The Pot Hits $550!
The excitement continues to build for our monthly drawing. The name drawn during the event was not in attendance to win, which means the stakes are higher than ever.
The grand prize has officially increased to $550 in Chamber Bucks for our next meeting!
Save the Date: June 9th | Back to the 80s
Our next Business After Hours is one you won’t want to miss. We are heading to The Cedars of Austin on June 9th to celebrate their 40th Anniversary. We’ll be going "Back to the 80s," so dust off your neon and get ready for a nostalgic evening of celebration.
