The Cedars of Austin offers a wonderful senior housing community located in the heart of downtown Austin for those ages 55 or better. We’re conveniently located near Austin Medical Center, the YMCA, banks, churches, pharmacies, shopping, the Mill Pond and more! We have a number of different apartments and floor plans to offer in each of our neighborhoods: Independent Living, Assisted Living & Memory Care. We have the ability to care for seniors who need simple reminders and cues all the way to seniors requiring more assistance with Activities of Daily Living. We also provide a caring home and community for seniors not requiring any additional services but seek a secure and maintenance free lifestyle.
We also offer a wide variety of social and recreational activities, special events and planned outings. We have numerous community areas including our library, craft room, woodshop, community room & chapel, billiards room, exercise room, beauty shop and our spacious main dining room with a coffee corner. Plus, we offer attached ground level heated garage spaces, storage lockers, a secured building entrance, a respite apartment, emergency pull cords in all apartments, a safety & wellness program, laundry, recycling & trash facilities on each floor, a guest apartment and many other optional services. Our delicious home-cooked meals are served 3 times a day plus snacks & coffee. Our 24 hour nursing staff includes RN’s, LPN’s and nurses aides to attend to any resident’s needs. Good Samaritan Society—Comforcare

Comforcare is owned and operated by the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society. The Center can accommodate 45 residents, all in a private setting, is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health and provides the finest professional care in an atmosphere of comfort, compassion and dignity. The Center is designed to provide 24-hour care for persons following hospitalization, those requiring temporary rehabilitative care, and those who are unable to live independently. Comforcare offers all the amenities of home such as flat screen TV, fridge, etc.
Staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants. Physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech/language pathology are available five days a week. Activity personnel provide an on-going program of social, recreational and therapeutic activities.
Each resident is invited to participate in the development of a comprehensive care plan which emphasizes service to the whole person. Consideration is given to spiritual, emotional and social needs, as well as to the resident’s well-being.

Our House is an assisted living home, providing compassionate support for older adults. Respect and independence are the foundation of care delivered at the 40-unit facility.
Professional trained staff are available 24 hours a day to assist residents with personal care and, administer medications. Residents receive three home-cooked meals along with snacks that are available anytime.
The health of every resident is monitored daily. The Residence Director and Registered Nurse communicate with each resident’s family and doctor on an on-going basis. This pro-active approach to wellness includes not only the resident’s physical well-being, but their emotional well-being as well. Activities are designed to stimulate, entertain and motivate.
