The public relations arm of the Chamber, our “Red Coats” Ambassadors work to create an atmosphere of goodwill within our community as the official representatives of the Chamber, and provide recognition and networking opportunities for members. Ambassadors conduct ribbon cutting, grand opening and ground-breaking ceremonies, host Business After Hours, organize the Chamber’s annual golf outing, AMIGO Day, our Annual Winter Banquet and Awards Program, fundraise for fireworks, and help out during Christmas in the City and during Freedom Fest events. "I have met a lot of friends through Ambassadors," "both fellow Ambassadors and members of the business community. We have a lot of fun putting events together." Shelley notes that insurance is a must for everyone, and finds provising customers with a variety of options helps them tailor policies to their specific needs.

He finds Austin to be close-knit community, and a great place to raise a family. Tom has four daughters and three grandchildren. Besides working with the Chamber, Tom also is a board member of the Austin Education Foundation and Apple Lane Child Care Center.
